This page explains what information the Render Valley website collects, what I do with it, and what your rights are. Render Valley is a web development and software business in Edmonton, Alberta, run by me, Mohammad. If you have a question about any of this, email [email protected].
What the quote form collects
When you send the quote form, it collects:
- your name, phone number and email address
- your business name, if you give it
- what you need help with, and anything you write in the message box
- the page you sent the form from, and the page that brought you to the site, if your browser shares it
I use these details to reply to you about your enquiry, and for nothing else. Sending the form doesn’t sign you up for a newsletter or a mailing list. I don’t sell, rent or trade your information.
Where it goes
The form is sent to my business inbox by an email delivery service. If I turn on instant notifications, a copy also goes to the tool that alerts me on my phone. The website itself doesn’t keep a copy of what you send.
To stop spam, the site counts how many times a form has been sent from your internet address. That count is deleted after one hour.
If you call, text or email me directly, your details stay on my phone or in my business email, the same as with any other business.
Analytics and cookies
The site is hosted on Cloudflare and uses Cloudflare Web Analytics. It shows me anonymous totals, like how many people visited and which pages they read. It doesn’t use cookies, and it doesn’t identify you. That’s why there’s no cookie banner. If I ever add a tool that does use cookies, I’ll update this page first.
Information stored outside Canada
The companies I use for hosting, email delivery and analytics may store or process information outside Canada, including in the United States. When they do, it’s covered by the laws of that country.
How long I keep it
I keep enquiry emails for as long as I need them to reply and follow up. If you’d like yours deleted, ask me and I’ll delete it. If we work together, I keep project and invoicing records for as long as tax law requires, which is usually six years.
Data in client projects
When I build software for a client, the data in it belongs to that client and is handled the way our written proposal says. If a project uses AI, the proposal states exactly what is sent to the AI service, and I keep that to the minimum the job needs. If you’re a customer of one of my clients, ask them first about how they use your information.
Your rights
Alberta’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) and Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) give you the right to:
- ask what personal information I hold about you
- ask me to correct it if it’s wrong
- ask me to delete it, unless the law requires me to keep it
To make a request, email [email protected]. I’ll reply within a few days, and always within 30 days.
If you’re not happy with how I’ve handled your information, you can complain to the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta (oipc.ab.ca) or the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (priv.gc.ca).
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, I’ll update this page and the date at the top.
Not sure what you need?
Tell me about your business and I'll tell you what I'd do and what it costs. The first call is free: about an hour, in person in Edmonton, or by video or phone.
